WHY IS THE SKY BLUE?

I’m a hopeless vagabond and a recovering addictive entrepreneur. I like starting new things, especially things that benefit people’s lives. PamplonaBalconies.com does just that, because it makes it easier for English-speaking travelers to do business with Spanish-speaking homeowners. I believe that efficient markets and increased supply will eventually win out over high prices that result from scarcity. We’re doing our part, and we’re just getting started... so stick around and see what happens.

Snow, Spring and Sanfermines

The newly-opened Hotel Marques de Riscal operated by Starwood hotels.

Snow, Spring and Sanfermines

Warm up with a nice Rioja...

The entire region of Navarra had a nice dusting of snow this week, even though the trees are already budding. Fortunately, I was able to fit in my tour of La Rioja region before the cold weather. I visited the Marque de Riscal winery and their new luxury hotel, designed by Canadian Frank Gehry. If you’ve been reading any food, wine or travel magazines this year you have already heard about this boutique hotel that doubles as a masterpiece on the La Rioja landscape. Check out my photo entries for more mementos of my trip.

Things are heating up

Even though the Sanfermines are still over three months away, we’re starting to see increased activity. Heaps of requests are coming in for the 7th through the 9th, so book all of your transportation, housing, and meals ASAP if you are traveling that weekend. Many balcony owners are reporting that they are now sold out until July 10th.
